Our Favorite Things to do in San Francisco:
** Everything is accessible via Uber/Lyft or if you’re feeling crazy try a Waymo!! As an FYI, we do not recommend renting a car. They can be targets for crime, and parking in the city isn’t great. You can use an app like Turo to rent a car for a day to explore the surrounding areas of the Bay!
· Walk the Presidio. We love Mountain Lake Park and Lion’s Street Steps to Lover’s Lane (grab lunch or a drink as Sessions)
· Walk by Tunnel Tops (near the Golden Gate Bridge) and explore Crissy Field. Check out Radhaus to grab a beer and pretzel!
· Walk through Golden Gate Park! (Check out the DeYoung Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, the Bison Hatch, California Academy of Sciences).
· Shopping in Hayes Valley, if it’s sunny grab a beer at the Biergarten
· Check out Ocean Beach (bring a sweater!). Grab a Poke burrito at Hook Fish
· Try Balboa for their famous espresso martinis
· Walk or bike the Golden Gate Bride if the weather permits.
· Sausalito, take a short car ride across the Golden Gate Bride. Stroll through Sausalito. We love eating at the Joinery & Bar Bocce.
· Check out the Ferry Building at the Embarcadero for shopping, food & drinks.
· If you are feeling touristy check out Fisherman’s Wharf.
Our Favorite Restaurants:
· Rich Table (Pete’s fave) a splurge but SO worth it! (needs a reservation)
· Hook Fish
· Sotto Mare
· Hog Island Oyster Co.
· House of Prime Rib
· Copra
· Taco Bar (we love Fillmore street, check it out!)
· Dumpling Story
· Little Chucker
Wine Country Recommendations:
Jenny’s favorite day trip is to Napa and/or Sonoma!
There are hundreds of wineries in Sonoma and Napa. You can get uber/lyfts to your wineries, but they are a bit of a ride. Wineries require reservations in advance! Getting between the different counties in wine country can take between 20-30 minutes, so plan your testing accordingly!!
Some of Jenny’s favorite wineries in the Napa area are below. All of these are within a 30ish mins of each other, but I would map them just to make sure you book the reservations in a way that makes sense to where they are located.
· Domaine Carneros- A very popular spot. It’s fabulous, mostly bubbly though.
· Cuvasion- I am a member here! Very cute indoor and outdoor space. Right next to Domaine
· Carneros and a little more low key
· Artesa- Also close by the two spots above. A VERY modern winery, but cool
· Ashes & Diamonds Mid-century design and super funky 70s vibe
· Darioush- I have never been but have been dying to go! I heard it’s amazing
· Stags’ Leap- Great reds! Very pretty estate
Some of Jenny’s Sonoma faves-
· Jacuzzi Family Vineyards- Italian vibes, great wine super cute place
· Viansa- If it’s nice out this spot has amazing views
· Ram’s Gate- Beautiful estate and great views!
